This isn't my primary blog, and was created mostly so I can comment on Deleterius, not that I do that much anymore since starting college. Not that I do much of anything anymore since starting college, other than schoolwork. But whatever, it's hanging.

Final Grades [December 20, 2006 @ 6:35pm]
[ mood | determined ]

HNRS 110: A
HNRS 121: A-
HNRS 226: A+
FREN 101: A+

And next semester - six courses! Should be okay, with one less Honors course and no policy debate. We'll see. Shooting for four years with my shiny new double major, but five would be fine if I can't handle it. And I need to see if the second Honors lit course credit counts as the college requirement rather than a second gen ed, which would be stupid because there's only one gen ed lit requirement. And the philosophy and religious studies requirement...have to figure that out too.

Well, it's been more than a month, and I'd like to say that I'd completed that last list of things to do, and then some. I've registered for my first semester freshman courses, finished Atlas Shrugged some time ago, I'm working on completing the physics textbook, got a horse, got a saddle to fit the horse, etc. etc.

May/June to do:

* Finish physics textbook.
* Finish Economics and Calculus II (hopefully at the same time).
* Register for Math Placement test - some date before June 26.

During the summer:

* German and Photography.
* Labs.
* BOOK!!!!11eleventyone1!1!

Coming up:

Memorial Day weekend! June 1st meditation! New horsie baby between now and June 7th! Slowly get other horsie acclimated to pasture and let him loose! Bond with him, ride him, build up his muscle, continue hoof growth and care, let his back heal.

Hey, I should build up my muscle (singular...yes, I just have one) too. Two point position practice, I guess. I could use the bouncy pilates ball too. I should exercise on days I'm not riding. Honestly.

Woo hoo! Almost done with Physics! If I get to the end of oscilliatory motion tonight, which will of course be in the wee hours of the morning since I was distracted by many things, I'll just have the chapter on waves left before I'm completely finished! Bwahahahaaa!! Then to finish my main classes this year I'll just need to complete Calculus II...and gag-me-fake-math-economics.

Those distracting things I mentioned started with electron spin after the professor said that there was nothing in the universe that was faster than the speed of light, in the context of transmitting information/signals for clock calibration. I remembered hearing something about electron spin where even if the pair was separated large distances, if one particle was observed, and that collapsed the dual state and forced it to have this spin, then across space the other instantaneously had the opposite spin. But I guess that's not so much transmitting information instantaneously than collapsing probabilities that retroactively affect information across space. But it would be pretty cool...if we could control the direction of electron spin, then using a binary kind of mechanism we could easily transmit information instantaneously across unlimited distances (if you had several halves of electron pairs and someone in the Andromeda galaxy had the other halves of the pairs, you could make yours go up down down and theirs would go down up up, which could mean something just like it does in Morse code. Can you imagine instantaneous transmission of information? Heck, if we refined the technique, we could use it here on Earth and my internet connection would be even faster. Instantaneous, actually). That would get rid of that annoying delay between shuttles, satellites and the like, and Earth. And of course, we could have real-time communications across thousands of lightyears. Of course, we'd have to have ships that could travel that far, but details, details. The other thing that distracted me was string theory, and then the Calabi-Yau manifold which is sooo cool.

Anyway. Back to schoolwork.

Why do I bother?

"How much schoolwork did I do today"...ha!

What's the matter with me? Really?

I did make it to the next chapter in Physics. And while I was able to focus on Physics pretty consistantly, I didn't do it for long enough. And just forget Calculus II, which I actually would have liked to get to, or Economics.

I read quite a bit more of "Atlas Shrugged," but that's an extra, and I didn't read nearly enough to justify my absence of work-like products.

I suppose the answer to problem lies somewhere within the question. I have an amazing amount of willpower, a statistically improbable amount of intellect, and an unusual abundancy of child-like enthusiasm and joy in learning, synthesising knowledge, and applying it back to the world. So why is it that I constantly choose to ignore it all, life, my work? Is it just habit? Has that particular neuron pathway been repeated so often and strengthened, that it's biologically nigh impossible for me to break away? If that is the case, then I must avoid repeating the beginning steps of that repeated pattern. How does it start every morning?

I come down and sit on the couch.

Then I pick up my laptop and instead of clicking on my school programs, almost of its own will it slides over to Firefox and I watch, disgustedly, resignedly, as the window opens. It all goes downhill from there. So I must not sit on the couch tomorrow.

I will NOT sit on the couch! That much, I can do.

So, to refresh my memory, tomorrow:

No couch sitting.
Two hours Physics.
Two Hours Calculus II.
Two hours Economics.

...that's easy. It is. If I remember to not sit on the couch, or even in the sunroom, which is also easy. Of course, if I misstep on any of those, even once, it's all shot. So I just have to remember...no...couch....NO......couch........

Okay, let's sort out this mess.

Before today I owed: Two hours economics, two hours calculus II. I think.

Plus today's work hours would be: Four hours economics, four hours calculus II, two hours physics.

Got done: Four hours economics. Spent "uality" time with family.

Total still owed: Four hours calculus, two hours physics.

Plus tomorrow's work load: Six hours calculus, four hours physics, two hours economics.

It can be done. I just have to get up at...well, why don't I just start now.

Haha. My alarm is set for 5:45.

What have I done? Nothing. You know what's a amazing? I still haven't finished Calculus II chapter 16. But the first day back at my schoolwork, I will have it done. And I'll probably even finish chapter 17 the same day, since it's so short. And yesterday...or maybe the day before, was it?...I fixed that chapter in The Arbitrator. Wee! That was the biggest thing on my editing list, and now it's out of the way and well done. Now, all that I have left is to eat lots of chocolate and maple candy...exercise it off, right...and peruse the photography and German books I got for Christmas. Happy Holidays, yo!

Not bad today, this site worked extremely well in getting my butt back on track. I didn't have to look at it either, just think about it. Wonderful!

Woke up at 9:00 instead of 8:30, but seeing as I went to bed around 1 am, that's not bad. Finished both of my schoolwork list and to-do list, AND took a nap. Did five Calculus II lessons, made and attempted to memorize German tables of adjective endings following both direct and indirect ending. Took a shower, washed the dog. All I have left is to finish the chapter of the Fountainhead, and I've got the rest of the night for that, as it's only six o'clock.

Tonight I should also:

Burn the New York pictures to CD for Mom and Dad
Make sure Bodhi's sweater thing gets washed.
Take bedsheets out of dirty clothes and put them in the laundry room.

TO DO:
Clean my room a little.

SCHOOLWORK:
Wake up at 8:45.
Five+ Calculus II lessons.
German Chapter -OR- Half chapter and CD.
Another Fountainhead chapter.

Book Status: Haven't looked at it recently. Makes me feel bad.
Learning Neurofeedback: Haven't
Dreams: Can't remember any from this week, except a brief fragment of the "This is Techno" song from my cellphone's ring tone selection.
Getting License: Scheduled driving for this weekend. Go me!

Well, today could have been better spent...I was distracted by a webcomic. I woke up at who knows when, did four Calculus II lessons and a few pages of German that I basically already knew. That's it. Wow.

That's pretty darn sad.

TO DO:
Wash Dog.
Shower.

SCHOOLWORK:
Wake up at 8:30.
Four+ Calculus II lessons.
A few pages of German.
One Fountainhead Chapter.

My life is sooo peachy. Wow, I just realized it. See? This journal has been useful already.

Book Status: Fermenting.
Learning Neurofeedback: Haven't.
Dreams: None that I can remember...slept pretty hard, thanks to New York trip.
Getting License: No progress.
